You must live in a parallel universe, Barr did nothing but run interference for the previous admin. Remember him fronting the media saying the Mueller report completely exonerated Mr Trump? Remember that? Shouldn't be hard because the report said no such thing.

What has Garland done? On the face of it nothing. I've not seen him.

Well for one he labelled moms and dads speaking at PTA meetings as domestic terrorists.
He also stupidly and biasedly stated the greatest threat to the Homeland was white supremacy
He ignored the illegal protestors outside SCOTUS' homes

There are other missteps but cant recall atm
