it seems like WBCs decision to have defected to APT has left them with a bit of a conundrum..lolThe Australian Financial Review’s in-house Afterpay experts Jonathan Shapiro and James Eyers wrote on Thursday that Westpac is rethinking its partnership with Afterpay before it’s even gone to market. That’s in light of Afterpay’s takeover by Square, which is already a direct competitor of Westpac’s eftpos merchant terminals and is soon to be a competitor in SME lending.
While Westpac is “thinking through the strategic implications” of Afterpay’s big news, you can be confident this thinking will, like almost everything at Westpac, take forever to get nowhere. Or at least nowhere
