Do we have any lawyers on this forum ? My question relates to how much evidence is needed to put forward a case of insider trading , and does collusion fall within that duristicintion
From the research that i have been undertaking , i know that CAMAC published a report in June 2009 (known as the ‘Aspects of Market Integrity Report’). In it, CAMAC recommended that insider trading and market manipulation offences be included within the definition of ‘serious offence’ in the Telecommunications (Interception and Access) Act 1979,which would permit existing ‘interception agencies’ as defined in that Act, such as the Australian Federal Police (AFP), to apply for warrants to intercept telephone conversations for the purpose of investigating such offences
so the question is how much evidence is needed to have interception and access act of 1979 put into play to see if or ifnot that such persons , who are shorting or other are infect acting on insider information ?
