I'm watching that Youtube Phil dude and he is using a site called "61financial", also reporting the 54.8M short total. He mentioned some other paid subscription site he uses called Ortex says it's 56M.
It should be ok after the 27th, around 700K shorts reported per day since, some of them would be closed too. Yesterday was the lowest I've seen, just under 350K. So things could be looking up from here
