I've been getting ideas lately about a possible different path I want to take from this point on. I was never really that interested in finance until this year as I get a lot of enjoyment out of other things I do. However the pay in corporate is just insane and I'm worried the allure is getting the better of me as I get older haha. Some of the mates I have are on $500k + and yet from my perspective are dumb as shit. One other mate does do cyber security consultancy actually, and I do respect him though haha.
So I've started entertaining ideas of mixing things together since having had time this past year to look at this finance garbage haha. The transition seems as though it'd be relatively smooth for me and I luckily already have a foot in the door in many ways through interpersonal networking.
You're right though. It's personal choice, and I've never much been one to chase a salary in lieu of passion. So I can't see myself being that interested in the actual work of a lot of these fields and would curtail the hours at first opportunity I got haha. However it seems like a great way to better balance out a more relaxed lifestyle once getting myself into the position I'd want to be in.
