IMO, the biggest lesson people can learn from Mariemac's loss over the last couple days, is to always be in a position where you're only thinking for yourself. Do enough research into your investment to the point no one else can shake your views on it unless they come to you with very solid evidence themselves.

On-top of that, know your mind. Know what you need to do in order to filter out emotions. e.g. For me, one of the things I have to do is as simple as separating the share price, in my mind, from the fundamentals and predicted future valuations I have done.

The share price was only ever a concern when I bought in. After that day, it becomes irrelevant for quite a while. Years even.

That's just me though. Once I do that, and also know my investment very well, then I can interact and talk about Zip with whoever, and their opinion won't influence me because I know I'm on-top of the actual fundamentals themselves. Unless of course they present some extremely great argument that I can see trumps my own analysis of the fundamentals. Others might need to do something else. Perhaps even leave internet forums altogether.

Just do what you have to do so that you're making your own decisions.
