Btw, your claim:

Is false. You can't interview a subset of a population, eg. 'active investors/traders', and expand that to the entire population.
The actual quote from the story I googled, is "An online survey of 430 investors who use online broker platforms found that half of respondents between 25 and 34 years old plan to spend 50% of their stimulus payments on stocks."
Essentially meaningless information, as it is not a random sample. Has science education gone backwards?
