I asked around the people that prefer Zip, and read reviews on both products.
Some people prefer the flexibility that Zip provides. The longer payoff period isn't the ideal business model, but it keeps their customers happy.
The $6 account keeping fee is a double edge sword. I thought it was pretty stupid at the start, but I then realised that people are more willing to pay that over late fees. Why pay late fees when you can pay only $6 to push the payments back.
Both products have their pros and cons.
