It was genuine, and it's really a simple yes or no question and should be the first one to be asked. The reason I asked is because there is a high chance that a lot of people see execs being poached from one of the 2 companies, and then have a look at one stock they own (Zip in this case), and then freak out about a "war", when it could just be a coincidence. I'm not saying that's what you've done, but it's why I asked the question. Because you would need to of analysed perhaps two dozen broker reports and hundreds of stocks those companies hold and their price targets if you are actually going to confirm a "war" between these 2.

So have you found data (other than just their Zip positions) showing these 2 companies are doing opposing trading and price targeting at unusually high levels relative to their peers across all trading sectors (and not just BNPL)? Or is it just speculation based on exec poaching and Zip and perhaps a few other companies they have opposing positions on?

Call me lazy, but for full disclosure, I don't actually intend to confirm any of this by doing research into it. Just too time consuming and probably irrelevant for me as a LTH. I was just curious if you had done the actual leg work involved considering you said news outlets hadn't, therefore it is all up to individuals to figure out and "read between the lines"...even though I believe no reading between the lines is necessary and it can all be determined off of their broker reports alone. Once again, hence, why I asked the question haha.
