yeah I think one day we could see no eftpos machines but that is some time away.
we can see square being used more and the form factor of the eftpos machine getting smaller and it’s chargeable so it can be picked up and moved to the customer for convenience rather than having to settle at a til.
there is still a little bit of distrust with putting your credit card transaction through on someone else’s phone. Seeing the eftpos machine or the square has an element of trust with it.
lots of older gen still using credit cards and will continue doing so. But definitely can see the younger gen adopt this.
but how would this work for in store purchases? Nah those eftpos machines will be around for a min another 5-10 years yet
