it does, but in the real world they'll never get this. in enterprise negotiations both sides have to start at insane positions, which make for cool headlines. If they don't, then they are putting current entitlements on the table to be negotiated. So rather than saying "we want 3% more and an extra day off" which has them being talked back to accepted the current deal for another cycle and trading that day off for a 1% pay rise..... they say "we want 1 day work weeks and 50% pay rise, with my first born to inherit my position"...... build the hill high, so you can give some of it away and appear reasonable.

Largely because the workforce is full of children and entitlement operating in bad faith (me included)
