Sorry to say but that's just rubbish, sure a small portion will flip but most take bigger positions for the longer term or they don't get the allocation in the first place. Do some research into some funds and you'll see they are more longer term holders, you'll find it's just the "retail sophs" who actually flip for a quick profit.
Much to the contrary of your stacking theory - if they are in accumulation phase they place multiple bids on screen to ensure they absorb everything at that price before anyone else gets any volume. Ie they can increase the size of the orders 4/5/6th in que should the orders before get filled and they remain at the top of the of the pile.
What your actually describing in saying they prop up the market is actually illegal and you'll find of late ASIC has been charging people for market manipulation. These guys don't have any interest in going to jail.
