The price of the construction sand he mentions was around the $20-25 a tonne mark. Silica sand for foundries (afs 45-55) is around the $35-45 a tonne and low iron silica (70-90ppm iron) for glass is $40-50 a tonne off the wharf in Kwinana. I see the value in VRX for getting bulk foundry/glass silica sand out of Geraldton, hence I bought in as at the moment there is no slots available for companies like ASQ to get silica out of Kwinana. Unfortunately though a $25mil plant won’t make sand suitable for semi conductors. Having seen what they do with it up in Korea, you would be throwing an extra 0 onto the build price to enter that market.
