A week or 2 late is considered a good outcome whenever dealing with government agency.
Used to work on some projects involving the government, they’re quick on chasing you for deadline, but took their sweet time answering any your clarifications or providing documentations. Once we had 3 months until next milestone, they took 2.5 months producing documentations. Leaving us 2 weeks to build the thing. Good times!
