100% - This attitude to dilution (that capital added will be preserved) also assumes any new capital is always put to good use, grows (in terms of earnings) and is not eroded away...
It assumes profits will materialise
It also assumes it's a perfect, noble, (almost fairy like) "honest" market with never the chance of any misdemeanour
That the players are always (and only) aligned to existing shareholder interest.
It assumes the "rules" are in fact the best and most equitable (for existing) shareholders to raise capital.
It assumes an ever diligent corporate watchdog
With endless resources and ability..
It assumes many many future things...
None of which is certainty.
And definitely (in my observation) a reality.Any other attitude frankly borders on blind naivety
