Next Monday there is an open farmer forum in Warrnmabool to discuss the wider ranging issues regarding all the offers. If the farmers decide to reject the Saputo offer, then farmers have the opportunity at that meeting that there’s a third alternative that would benefit all Aus dairy farmers no matter who they supply – that farmers resolve to tell both Bega and MG that their preferred option would be to merge the WCB, Bega and MG assets together to obtain the best strategic outcomes possible, as both CEOs have said that they want to do what’s best for the Aus dairy industry (farmers) and that rartionalisation is essential for this industry to grow. That meeting would put it to both Bega and MG’s CEOs and boards to come up with a workable solution that would satisfy farmers’ wishes. The meeting would also make it known to the government and ACCC that this is what Aus diary farmers have chosen to do for the best interests of their industry, themselves, their communities and most importantly, the Aus nation.

This is a perfectly workable strategy. And get rid of the egomaniacs with their cheque books who think that money can buy them anything they want.
