Unlike most dollar stores, TRS positions itself at regional centres to compete directly with Coles/WOW. I know its only anecdotal, but I know a lot of ppl who swing into TRS before going to the big 2 for the things they cant get at TRS. The point being that TRS get in special lots of cheapies that fill up their stores, whereas Coles/WOW can only put specific items on the "loss leader" board for a limited time.
