A work college of mine is trying to claim for damage against Vic roads for damage she sustained to her car when she hit a pot hole.
This occurred on a weekend and was on a section of road that was being repaired and had road work signs up meaning that repair crews were working on this section fixing pots holes and repairing the road. The crew weren't present over the weekend but had left the signs up.
Speed limit in the area is 60 klm she claims she was travelling 40-50 Klm's.
She had contacted Vic Roads and was given a claim form, after they processed her claim, she was told to seek compensation from the contractor.
The damage she sustained to her car are two buckled rims and flat tyres down one side.
She has photographed the pot hole shortly after this incident and found that they had repaired the hole.

She feels like she been given the run around and is upset by the whole ordeal.
My question is: Has anyone been successful in obtaining compensation from such damage and what course of action is possible for her to pursue.
She feels very strongly about the responsibility of the working crew and the state the road was left in.
There was no signs out stating a reduced speed limit from 60 Klm. and it was over a crest of a hill.

    Many thanks for all replies.
