Maybe the wonderful "green revolution" that saved all those people from starving and let them go on expanding their populations created this humanity "bubble" in the first place.
We are destroying soil, and using up ancient aquifers, salting landscapes, on a scale that is mind blowing. This is like printing money to get out of debt, it works for a while and then it breaks down in a way that does irreversible damage to a much bigger area.
If intelligence is added to organic food production much higher yields can be achieved. But then that would not be profitable for the current suppliers to the agro. industries. Organic Production systems need to be planned better and then they can out-produce over the long term. There is no long term alternative. Yes it has been documented many times, the idiots in the white coats cant work out what single element does the trick.
Not saying this is easy, not saying we should let anyone die. Not saying we can all eat, imported Fuji apples or Grain and Meat products either, but lets face it, the big players are not trying for a sustainable zero death solution. They are more interested in taking us further down this stupid path of destruction and locking us into "their product pipeline". Hey why would they want people to be self sufficient in growing and eating food that is suited to their climate and natural environment? - no money in that.
Have to start with the basics - make the best damn living soil you can. Catch and save rainwater, let it soak through the landscape, mulch the growing beds. Keep energy in the system as long as possible. Just because someone is not using fertilizer does not mean they are producing intelligently.
5 billion people dont have to starve if the 4 billion who eat and burn more than they need while worrying about what they look like, start taking part in the solution,or at the very least, open their minds, instead of letting the "scientists" and the wonders of modern technology take us all to hell.
If Monsato is the only answer - then we better start "organic dreaming" a little harder and a little faster.
