The Vikings only went because it was a nice land for farming, fishing and sealing. Oh, and things had got a bit too hot for Erik the Red in Iceland. But free farmland for wheat and veggies, cattle and sheep, what’s not to like? It’s even starting to make a bit of a comeback.
