for autonomous vehicles to really be safe that truck also needed a supervisory system aware of it's impending path.
this means all vehicles need to be under a surface traffic control system when required, may as well add near surface (drones) and integrate with air traffic management systems for the complete picture.
it's a no brainer as far as i'm concerned. I just can't see if it's within a decade away or a century of bickering an whinging holding us all back from superb transportation experiences and productivity increases..... (google and tesla will hate the idea, uber will love it)
