WPL's exit has everything to do with the ENI Agip pre-empt IMHO. Being the operators, I very much doubt Woodside would have been happy with a 35% interest considering the size of the company these days. I feel they would have gobbled us up eventually without a doubt.
Basically they now have a multi billion dollar asset in Mauritania through their involvement with Hardman and as they said, it was all part of their Mauritanian entry strategy.
As for Guyane, I feel we will have a last minute deal like the GDF deal with Dana and the Petronas farm in just prior to the Poune well being drilled from memory. Personally would love to go it alone but I'm sure the market will react much more favourably if a major partner entered the equation.
All IMHO of course !
