I think it is just called Rock Salt.
It doesn't refer to any brine as there is no brine situation out in the middle of the danakil depression.
It's the hottest and driest place on earth.

But rock salt is what they use as 'road' salt for de-icing etc.
But shipping etc to northern hemisphere would be expensive for a low margin bulk commodity.

However, it's biggest application is in the manufacture of PVC piping and other industrial uses.

And since China is 're-plumbing' their entire country, the demand is enormous.

And to DNK, it's a waste product.
We need to clear it away to get to our high value S.O.P. (selling at US$500/tonne compared to rock salt maybe $30/tonne)

But our waste product is worth quite a lot.
The numbers are large so I think this is correct:
Colluli rock salt reserve is 1 billion tonnes at 98% NaCl (Very Pure)
Even if we get $10/tonne, its worth $10bn to us.

The worrying thing is that the rock salt reserve was announced in early 2016 (I think) and thats it.
Surely we could have announced MOU's with multiple groups for off-take ???????????
Nothing...

And maybe some MOU's for all the other products we have:
Kieserite, Gypsum, Magnesium Chloride etc
