I agree with you 100% there... if the FTSE falls below 3000 then AMP will be hit hard... 2500 even harder and 2000...
The question is what to do now if your AMP i.e. if you hedge the FTSE position then you wouldn't participate in any recovery and hence get slammed by policy holders.
The bet with AMP is that the FTSE falls are over... trading at 6 year lows it's possible to see 2500 but would need quite a global shock to do it. A nuke over London would probably do it. Let's hope Saddam isn't that crazy.
