And it looked like it worked for a time but it was based on the premise that private ownership was always going to be more efficient and that profit was a better motive for performance.
I don’t think everything Kennett did was wrong or foolish, though he was inclined to give mates opportunities that others might have liked, but the premise is wrong. Or the premise could be right if it operated in the context of social expectations
maybe we just need to go though these cycles. But maybe tte cycles are really spirals and in this arena maybe each solution just makes things worse until we find another version - with a painful period while that transition occurs
for all Dan be criticised something needed to be done about the urban infrastructure. Health is a shared responsibility but for sure it is a state of disarray. Education - federally driven policies and a market led economy have created monstrosities which drive immigration, which created more chaos. Such fun times we live in
