If I was the State Government I would put in the rail line direct into Avalon and give our lazy, pathetic, money making monolopy airport at Tulla some competition. The Geelong/Melbourne rail line goes right pass the joint, its just paddocks and farmland, as flat as a pancake, no tunnels, bridges etc. Cheap as chips to put in a couple of K's of rail. Would give Avalon a real point of difference. With budget airfares it costs more to drive and park at Tulla for a couple of days than the airfare. A complete joke.
