Seems to be a fair bit of confusion around where prices actually are. DAP and MAP are value-added phosphatic fertilizers that farmers don't have to use and are expensive to make. Most are now moving back to basic better value in superphosphate, DSP and TSP. A DAP plant will cost you US$1 billion to construct. If you use the superphosphate products you don't have to bear any of a DAP plants cost in your fertilizer bill. Rock prices are what is important to MAK.

Until grain prices turn around I won't be taking any notice of short term pricing, especially for DAP, MAP (unless they rise significantly, say 40-50%) ... other fish to fry out there so I can maybe buy more MAK should the story turn around.
