Freight was estimated Australia to India as $30 per tonne DAP by IPL. Surely it would be half that to go around Australia. Loading on to the Ship would be $10 per tonne at most and is included in that FOB pricing.
It would be cheaper to move the material by ship from Darwin to Geelong (if that plant is still operating, I have a feeling it was being wound down). It is going to cost at least $20 per tonne for the rail component from Tennant to Darwin.
I agree that we should be on the front foot with the pricing of freight to Australia though. If Morocco to India is $55 and Australia to India is $30. Then with a bit of conservatism, the price from Morocco to Australia could be estimated at $75 per tonne. That is certainly an advantage for ex Darwin Rock Phosphate.
