re: ..but is America doing any better today, assuming that this article is comparing Europe to America? Suppose the 'brain drain' begins to reverse direction. It was European migration that gave America its impetus, not the Pilgrim Fathers. The US moon landing was given a big start by German rocket engineers after WW2. US money sucked in the brains of Europe after WW2. The wages being paid in Europe are rapidly rising so we may soon see growth there.
