Australian Securities Exchange chief Elmer Funke Kupper
has warned the integrity of the market cannot be guaranteed.

Mr Funke Kupper has also called for tougher regulation of dark pools.

******This is despite the fact that the ASX operates one of the biggest dark pools, called Centre Point. Dark pools are electronic trading venues in which professional investors trade shares among themselves, away from the scrutiny of the stock exchange.

With a quarter of all trades every day taking place in these secretive venues..........

Ps I heard him state on abc news, or lateline last night...words to the affect....

***for an ordinary trader, you cannot believe the buy and sell prices that you see on the screen...those figures mean nothing, with the Dark Pool trading system hiding in the background.
