no the way it works is the shorters lock in the profits of the insto that bought lower, vs the insto that short sold higher say 2+ vs 86c (buyer) like i think MS was, that way both are happy, and the parasites( shorters) can buy back without undoing the damage they have done to the share price by buying back on-market.
This tactic allows them to cash in a massive amount of short sold shares without increasing the share price 5 fold, unfair tactic? immoral? yep that's why i enjoy hearing when JP Morgan and the other bastards incur massive trading losses.
