Chrysalis, good post, but I don't think it is much to do with the rich. I suspect poor management would be the key here, with a family owned business and a brand mis-conception. Not really a chocolate company - their biggest sellers are liquorice and Rocklea Road. Too many people must have tasted the chocolate!
the problem with "retraining", though, is an Australian fixation with having a piece of paper. Very few jobs require formal training with HECS debt. And then there are all the other bits of paper in the form of regulations - another major block to being a manufacturer.
