Vixen, did you read the half year report and previous announcements?
NFL has already started glycerine refining at both it's Darwin and Singapore plants. Previous announcements have indicated that pharmaceutical grade glycerine is obtaining prices of up to US$1,800/tonne in South East Asia.
From the 2nd Quarter Commitments Test:
"The current refined glycerine market is robust and is experiencing high demands for use in the plastics, electronics, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals and other industries. Pharmaceutical grade glycerine is currently selling at up to US$1800 (A$2045) per tonne fob SEA. NFL expects that glycerine refining will provide a strong revenue base for the Company during 2008."
There are over 1,500 uses for refined/pharmaceutical grade glycerine. The main deterrent for more uses is cost of the product compared to the cost for alternatives.
