    Yes I would agree that Darwin holds possibilities although it may have already seen the spike in development. I lived there for 5 years during an Army posting 1989 - 1994 which saw me involved in the defence buildup in the north and subsequently defence housing. That was an interesting time with much new stock built by the defence housing authority. Although defence will still have some reliance on leasing private housing stock I would not consider this to be a reliable fall back to investment decisions. The key to tapping defence for property development reasons is the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) anyone interested should check their web site as it outlines opportunities.
    As to general property investment in Darwin well I believe that it all comes back to what the real economic drivers are up there at the moment. It would be interesting to note any opinions on this?
