GoPro for me.. Had it for 3 years now and works just as good as when I bought it..

Pros:
Functional and easily removable.
Battery life - about 4 hours.
Removable and used for other activities - I have a cradle for the boat and it looks great.
HD - but then again, most are.
We're not in Russia - you know what I mean. If you don't, start watching YouTube..
Size - no bigger than a very small GPS unit.
Rugged when in the waterproof clear cradle case.


Cons:
Not chargeable whilst in the windscreen cradle
No playback on camera without costly additions that don't fit in cradle
Battery best charged out of camera in separate dock - but easily found on fleebay that also have 12v adapter.
No GPS on my model. I thought the more current ones had "something"...
Cost of accessories for other sports, but some are easily found on fleebay.
Each 32Gb card only stores around 4 to 5 hours of video for me in HD. Ok, I have a few spares but tend to just clear the card if nothing of note has happened since the last refresh.
