The central question concerning Dastyari's behaviour isn't about religious tolerance or simple perception. Dastyari's behaviour is certainly contemptuous and strikes at the very heart of political responsibility and accountability. Look around at your own situation and the situation of your friends and neighbours and ask yourself: In what job can you serially and directly and publicly lie to your boss and to those who pay your income and still keep your considerable salary and perks?

We basically are paying to keep a self-acknowledged liar and promoter of foreign interests in Parliament. Why? Why does the Australian Labor Party not expel this agent provocateur whose ethics is based on self-promotion and self-interest? It can't be due to lack of evidence? It can't be due to apathy within the Australian public? Clearly Dastyari is being protected and will remain a Senator despite what wrongs he commits against the interests of the Australian people.

Until Dastyari's political membership is removed the reality is that good Bill (by default) is equally guilty of aiding and abetting the interests of the Chinese Government over that of our national interest. Good Bill will always place the interest of his party before doing the right thing (morally or legally) by the people of Australia.

In other words, nothing has changed within the thinking or moral purpose of the Labor elites. Self-interest prevails and will remain as such given that Dastyari will be re-elected based mostly on his former nationality. Only irrefutable proof of a crime against a person will cause Dastyari to be gone from the sanctum of Labor federal power once and for all.
