While Shorten can boot Dastyari out of the Labor Party, he cannot boot him out of the Senate neither can the Senate itself.
Senators dropping out of a political party is nothing new; a few weeks ago the One Nation Senate replacement candidate
dropped One Nation within hours of arriving in Canberra and despite the fact that he got 17 votes in the election.

The Dastyari issue is that he attempted to protect his Chinese $400K political donor from electronic eavesdropping by the Security Services and that he may have given the impression that he personally disagreed with the Labor Party's policy on the South China Sea fake islands. This obviously is a moral issue; not a legal issue and the question now is 'how was this outed & could it be another Senator Cash stunt and were our National Security surveilance interests compromised ?" ( a legal issue)

Over the past year many Chinese University students have demonstrated over Australian Government policy but we don't have the alls to tackle them as stooges of the Chinese Communist Government in case it might jeopardise our $16 billion foreign student education programs.

We're as cheap as chips mate and our our lax attitude towards defending Australia is endemic. We run out there and buy everything Chinese because its cheap; not because its the right thing to do. And we close a blind eye to the ongoing Chinese buy-outs of our resources and iconic Aussie businesses.How silly is it to have some of our electricity assets owned by the Chinese?
