PAKISTAN-focused Tethyan Copper Co says the bankable feasibility study at its H4-Reqo Diq copper project is expected to be completed in the next few months.
Initial mine layout design are amongst the tasks completed at the planned 42,000 tonne per annum heap leach SX-EW open pit mining operation at H4, which contains an indicated resource of 126.3 million tonnes grading 0.7% for 884,000tof copper.
A major exploration program using two dual-purpose (RC and diamond) rigs is underway at Reko Diq in a bid to increase the resource figure at the project by 200,000-500,000t. The new exploration program at Reko Diq follows up last years 26,000m drilling program.
Tethyan said the drilling is designed to upgrade a number of known porphyry systems to resource status. A newly discovered zone of mineralisation at Sor Baroot, within Reko Diq, will also be targeted in the new drilling program which Tethyan said may hold potential for a significant copper resource.
