And yes the value of a human life is priceless at the personal & human level but that is why the weight of leadership is on the one hand, detached from this and on the other, such a heavy burden.
But in a macroscopic view, the death of individuals has to be balanced against the betterment of the majority.
To forego the tough decisions because the cost of life is apparent would be very poor leadership. And if history is a teacher, to forego the price at one point is often a precursor to a far higher price in the eventual outcome
And as for making up our own minds regarding Ardent - most of us already have.
Sort of like a mosquito - love to swat it as he keeps pestering you
