    This is surely becoming a battle of Biblical proportions!!

    Sadly it is perhaps no coincidence to see the short interest building on CQT at the moment. Refer:

    http://www.asx.com.au/data/shortsell.txt

    As at 14 Sept, CQT short interest was 742,175. I think it was about 250,000 the day before? Is this GFA, or an agent thereof, trying to play dirty? Maybe our old mate Vic has borrowed some CQT stock? Regardless, shorting CQT at this point in time is a bit risky given their is a DFS due in the next few months, and that the media seems to be picking up on the story!

    For those who didn't see the story on CQT in today's Aust Fin Review ("Conquest wants Action" p45), it was essentially about the dispute with GFA. I really liked some of JT's quotes about GFA;

    "In all fairness, they really have done bugger all"

    "If they do 150,000 metres of drilling, we get to share in the upside... and I know there's more there. We gave them the targets."

    "They came a couple of months ago and made us an offer. They were sort of flexing their muscle a little bit and said no more drilling, not this quarter or next, but how about we buy into Silver Hill now?"

    I bet the last thing GFA expected CQT to do was to put up any sort of fight, let alone jump the fence into the regional tenements and do their drilling for them!!!

    I would love to buy some Gold Fields shares so I could front up to their next AGM in South Africa (wearing a Wallabies jumper of course) and ask CEO Mr Nicholas Holland why he feels John Terpu knows more about gold exploration than one of the world’s largest gold producers.
