Remember -- The Great barrier reef is 2300 kms long and covers 350 000 sq kms

Therefore any statement about ALL THE REEF has to be taken with a grain of salt as no one can see all the reef

Obviously there are going to be portions under pressure at any give time as there are going to be portions that are blooming

We should always be concerned with the heath of such a icon but lets not go overboard.
As an ex Queenslander I have heard predictions every few years over the last 70 years that the reef will not last another two years, BUT it's still there

The areas that they should be concerned with are the runoff from farming and development, excessive tourist activity and mining exploration, as these are things that we can control and fix if required

But King Canute we are not --- the effect of GW is minuscule, lets fix what we can and leave the rest to Mother Nature
