Your question has no answer as any rational person would agree that the situation regarding population growth and CO2 emissions is completely out of control.
Also whatever we do now will have little effect on the CO2 levels that have been factored in by past activities.
The only possible scenario to fix this issue IMO is to have a benevolent world dictator who acts along the lines of the philosopher ruler described by Plato in the Republic.
The philosopher ruler cannot have any personal wealth and acts solely in the interests of humanity.
Maybe the world could have a series of knockout philosophical arm wrestles and the winner rules the world for the next 10 years--no argument and no exceptions.
Then with everyone working together and all climate deniers burnt at the stake to get them to feel the forthcoming heat we will make progress by adhering to these rules;
1. No children unless you can prove you can parent well--a bit like getting a drivers licence.
No more than 2 kids for the next generation.
Also painless euthanasia for those that want to help out by reducing the population and have had enough of living!
2. No more land to be cleared. We have the technology to grow food and fibres without clearing more land.
3. Every able bodied person is to not to waste energy needlessly.
4. All surplus money to be directed to a scaled up technological fix to capture and store CO2 and other greenhouse gases like methane.
In conclusion: Once something like nuclear fusion is up and running or a similar technology is found, the world will soon change as we will have the energy to produce unlimited clean water and healthy food and materials for living without destroying on the environment--or what's left of it!
