The point you are missing is there was no need for grid stabilisation under the old perfectly operational, reliable, cheap power generating and delivery system.
It is only through changing the system to an unreliable costly one that these things are now being touted as some sort of saviour.
Anyone who believes we have improved the energy system in Australia needs to be locked up in a mental asylum.
