One amusing anecdote of my dealings with David Gulpilil was in 2006 he was walking down a main street in Darwin angrily waving a machete about, when I asked him what he was doing with the machete, he responded "cooking chicken you idiot".

I was in Darwin in early September and witnessed first hand, in Mitchell Street, sickening violence by a male aboriginal on a female aboriginal.

I suspect that this is not the first time it has happened.
