    He may, but think of a situation of a law that did not exist, then finding out you are charged with a criminal offence for breaking it. Then to be detained and tortured for years without anything legal you could do.
    I am not a supporter of Hicks or his views, just disgusted by our political rabble that did not do what they should have done (like the Brits did) to support an Australian citizen, especially when they were being charged with an offence that did not exist. That is an injustice, and our leaders did not act in a manner previously followed, instead they followed a political objective of the good ol USA like nice little muppets. And poor naive julia did not again understand law..
