Just because our laws were out of date - no one thought an Australian was capable of such action does not make him not guilty. I would have thought a nice act of Parliament would have fixed that quick smart if our poiticians had more guts - note I am no lawyer But Actually I would argue he could be tried under constitutional law enough precedents in there regarding treason - and if not I would love them to try for the next 50 years or so. BTW the US deserves a massive thank you from us they are the only ones willing to try to stop terrorism while the rest of the world is in denial until of course a bomb goes off. Then again perhaps you are right let Hicks walk and hope he doesn't kill someone we know.
