I have just finished David Hicks book Guantanimo. It is clear testament to the duplicity of our leaders at that time: Bush and Howard, and of man's inhumanity to his fellow man.

The book is well written supported by full referencing and chilling in its description of his despair at the injustices he suffered.

More worrying is the fact that as long as this country maintains its sycophantic support of all US foreign policy and unquestioning participation in all its dirty wars, the same kind of travesties will go on being perpetrated. That both of our major political parties show no desire to rectify this state of affairs must be a major worry to thinking Australians.

I note that John Howard also has a book out. I can only fervently hope that if he reads Hick's book, he will suffer a pang of conscience. Somehow I doubt that.
