I didn't like the Carbon Tax either, it was crazy for a country like Australia to place costs like that on the goods we produce, when the rest was doing nothing of the sort, it didn't make sense, but neither does Direct Action, especially if it promotes the use of smoke belching coal fired power and in the same breath takes away any incentive to go clean and green and also help our nation with new technology that will in the end be the best source of power, but Abbott it seems would rather see that tech go elsewhere in the world

People talk about how bad Nuclear power stations are, well if you compare the deaths from all of the radiation accidents combined they are still insignificant to those caused by coal fired power stations, no one ever talks about that, they would rather use oil and coal go figure, even gas is not as efficient and clean as it is purported to be, even if you don't agree about global warming, you cannot have an argument for the pollution coal fired power causes.

CCS doesn't work, not yet anyway and even if they can get it to work, which I very much doubt? the costs of doing so will make coal even less competitive, if you took away the hidden incentives the coal fired power producers get? then the true cost of power produced by these polluters compared to to solar or wind would be much greater, there would be no doubt which costs less, instead of the BS they serve up today.

I am not 100% convinced on global warming argument either, but I am convinced the we have global temperature change, whether that is caused by humans? well not sure, but I suspect we have some degree of impact on the worlds weather, I would rather err on the side of caution than bury my head in the sand and say it isn't happening.
