Arterial stents we’re one of the very first products licensed, to Biomet or Medtronics, but stents sort of fell out of favor in the US, and despite the fact that a resorbable stent would avoid many of the problems perceived with stents in general, the partner was apparently unwilling to make the investment in trials, etc. needed to progress the license. Eventually the license was pulled. But the prospect of a resorbable stent remains a potentially attractive application for the future.
