I liked the bit about techonology never solving anything.

It would be enlnightening for this guy to spend a few weeks away from all the various props and supports that this useless technology provides for him in his daily life.

Somewhere is the deep amazon perhaps, or very isolated parts of new guinea with:
    - no medicine apart from whatever he can get from the local fauna
    - no supermarket, you eat what you can pluck or kill
    - no way to rid your environment of the masses of insects feeding on you
    - get your water from the local stream ( hoping no-one immediatly upstream has decided they need to use the stream as a toilet right now)
    - etc etc

I imagine he might begin to learn a sense of appreciation of what a comfortable and safe existence this useless technology provides for him.

At the very least, his day will be filled with meeting his basic and urgent needs and he will have less time and inclination to criticize the people around him and the society that supports him in comfort.
